  • October 10, 2014Bus Safety - Pecatonica district students were educated throughout the week on Bus Safety. They discussed safety practices and how to respond during an emergency. This was a good opportunity for students to ask questions and get familiar with bus exits and to be prepared. When sharing the road with a bus, please remember students could be crossing the street from either side of the bus and to ALWAYS stop when the stop arm sign is out. Thank you for helping us keep our precious cargo safe.
October 10, 2014Fire Prevention Week - In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the elementary school students received important information on how to respond in the event of a fire emergency. Local emergency workers, along with Sparky the Fire Dog, set up a mock house to teach children about fire alarms, safety tips, checking doors to see if they are hot or cold before opening them, staying low to the floor to avoid smoke inhalation during evacuation, and establishing a meeting place in front of the house. Have you practiced your fire drill recently? Please go to www.sparky.org for more information.
