During last week's elementary school book fair, Pecatonica Elementary students were encouraged to collect spare change for a program through Scholastic called All for Books. For every dollar received, Scholastic matched donations to organizations for children in need. Pecatonica Elementary collected $1,060.46 to help local (Rockford area) children in crisis facilities receive a book for comfort! Mrs. Wanke's class was the top collector at $138.50 and will receive an ice cream party during their library time with Mrs. Hickman. Students also created bookmarks during Art class with notes of kindness to be added to the books. Way to go, Pecatonica Elementary!
