Pecatonica students went over bus safety last week on the PES blacktop Sue Siemens, the Transportation Director, discussed safety practices and procedures. Students learned about safety zones, good bus behavior, and exiting in case of an emergency. When sharing the road with a bus, please remember students can be crossing the street from either side of the bus and to ALWAYS stop when the lights are flashing and the stop arms are out. Our new buses are equipped with two stop arms for even greater precaution. If you witness a vehicle intentionally pass a bus or school van with the stop arm out, please get the make and model of the car and the license plate number and report it to the District Office at 815-239-1639 or the Pecatonica Police department at 815-239-1600.
