Congratulations to Pecatonica High School junior Anna Munson who received recognition for the third year in a row as a Top Ten Finalist in the Rockford Woman's Club Creative Writing Contest! On Tuesday, April 16, Anna was honored at the 99th Annual Rockford Woman’s Club Creative Writing Contest luncheon for her work of prose, "In Which the Wizard Noor Does Some Magic." Anna, her parents, and her former Language Arts teacher Mrs. Johnson were invited to attend the luncheon with nine other finalists, their families and teachers, and members of the Rockford Woman’s Club. Each student read their poem or work of prose and received a $50 scholarship. All finalists also received a bag of children's books from the Rockford Woman's Club to be donated to the finalists' former elementary schools.

It was another great day to be a Pecatonica Indian! The PHS ACES team won 2nd place at the NIU Sectional, securing their spot at the State Championship on April 8th! Congrats to individual medalists: Anna-2nd in chemistry, Brooklyn-3rd in chemistry, Trevor-2nd in computer science, 2nd in engineering graphics, Lee- 3rd in English.

Bus 7 is running late. Students are safe and will be delivered home as soon as possible.

PEC #321: The district will dismiss as scheduled since the weather sirens have stopped and we have an open window of time according to radar to run bus routes and get everyone one home. Basketball bus and fan bus will depart as scheduled. Stay safe!

Good Luck to the Pecatonica Varsity Academic Bowl team tonight. They will be competing in the IHSA Regional Tournament at Morrison. First round match will be at 5:20 against the winner of Eastland and Pearl City. They are the top seed in the tournament and also won the conference this year with an undefeated record. Congratulations to the varsity boys basketball team on the win over Fulton tonight. They will move on to the Sectional Finals on Friday night at 7:00 pm. Here is the ticket information. Pecatonica has been given 500 online tickets for the game on Friday night. To ensure you get a ticket click on the go fan link and purchase them online.
