The Pecatonica High School FFA hosted a “Petting Zoo” Thursday, April 25, 2019.  The FFA students setup a petting zoo on the middle school property next to the FFA Greenhouse and brought in Jazzy bunny and Jinx, the flop eared bunny, a German Shepard mix named Maddie, pigeons, chickens and roosters, goats, Dodger the horse, a five week old lamb and two one week old calves.  There was a big beautiful blue tractor with a shiny red hay baler attached to it provide by Peabudy’s North Farming Equipment for students to explore and have their pictures taken in or around. There were hay wagons with hay bales placed for students to sit and enjoy the 450 cups of ice cream donated by Prairie Farms.  The kids loved seeing and interacting with the cute animals. A tent was set up for students to plant seedlings to take home and plant courtesy of the FFA Greenhouse. Our FFA adviser and Agriculture Teacher, Brenden Schultz, provide and drove a double hay wagon to and from the elementary school building to pick up and deliver students.   Barb and Mark Klinger provided the trailer and the calves, the Larsons provided hay, and Jeff Clark provided the hay racks. The FFA students were rock stars and the children’s smiles were as bright as the sun.
