Dallas, TX - Last month Key Club International held its annual International Convention, welcoming hundreds of members from more than 35 countries. At the Awards & Recognition night, Pecatonica High School Key Club was recognized as the Distinguished Club Diamond Level Recipient for the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District.

Each year clubs are to submit an Annual Achievement Report, detailing the number of service projects and service hours completed, all funds raised for other organizations, and the overall record of membership for that Key Club year. Because of their achievements in the 2025-2026 Key Club year, during February’s District Convention and Leadership Conference, Pecatonica Key Club officers and members learned the club would be named the District’s Diamond Level Award recipient at the 2026 International Convention. PHS Key Club would like to thank the 2025-2026 officers and chairs who stepped up to lead the group, the members who gave so much of their time to volunteer, and the school and community for always supporting the club’s endeavors.

Pecatonica High School Key Club, which meets each Tuesday during the school year from 2:45-3:15, is advised by faculty member Michelle Johnson and is sponsored by the Lincoln Douglas Kiwanis Club of Freeport and Kiwanis Advisor Mary Arenson. The club is excited for the upcoming school year and all the service and fundraising they have planned already!
