Saving Campbell - Mrs. Dunham’s 8th grade science class project involved saving a can of Campbell’s Soup! Student’s worked in teams to build a “flotation device” in a few seconds that would prevent Campbell from sinking when he was dropped into water. Students were given a limited supply of materials to help Campbell “float” for 60 seconds. Team 1 kept Campbell afloat but the weight distribution was too low so, unfortunately, Campbell flipped over and was head first in the water for 60 seconds! (Most people in good health can hold their breath for approximately 2 minutes) Teams 2 & 3 kept Campbell afloat with creative flotation devices built with corks, wooden clothes pins, paper clips, baggies, and rubber bands to name a few. Great job students!!! Thanks for the invitation Elyse Poole!!! (Click on the Photos to enjoy the Video links!!)
