Early Childhood Screening
Who: Kindergarten-Children who reach their 5th birthday on or before September 1st, 2021.
AND
EC-Any child that does not qualify for the age requirement to attend Kindergarten in the fall, but especially ages 3-5.
When: Monday, March 22 8:00a.m.-2:00p.m.
Tuesday, March 23 8:00a.m.-2:00p.m.
Wednesday, March 24 8:00a.m.-2:00p.m.
What: First Congregational Church
633 Reed Street (across from the elementary school)
What: Screenings are by appointment only. Appointments will be taken beginning March 1st. Please contact the ES office @239-2550 ext. #4 between 7:30a.m.-3:00p.m. to make an appointment.
Kindergarten **Please be sure to bring a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate and 3 proofs of residency (1 needs to be a mortgage statement or rental agreement). This is required for your child to be registered for kindergarten. Also, if you have current immunization records and a kindergarten physical, you can bring those at this time.
EC **Please be sure to bring a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate and 3 proofs of residency (1 needs to be a mortgage statement or rental agreement). We encourage all families with preschool age children to bring their children to screening, regardless of whether or not there is a developmental concern. While this screening is used to help identify children who may require special assistance or who might need extra testing, it is also an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s growth and development with the screening team. The team can also give suggestions for how to best foster the child’s learning at home, activities to support their academic progress, and a plan that will make the transition to kindergarten as smooth as possible. It also allows the School District to estimate future enrollment. Parents will be asked to complete some brief paperwork while they wait.
